HELP SUPPORT THE NEXT FESTIVAL OF EMERGING ARTISTS

THE ROAD TO A CAREER IN MUSIC IS A TOUGH ONE FOR YOUNG ARTISTS. WE ARE HERE TO HELP.

Join us by helping support the third season of The Next Festival of Emerging Artists, a unique week-long immersion experience for talented string players on the cusp of great careers. Your contribution goes directly to supporting our talented young artists and to making The Next Festival an important stepping stone in their careers.

MAKE A TAX-DEDUCTIBLE DONATION HERE

Held on the grounds of Music Mountain, the oldest continuous chamber music festival in the country, the Next Festival combines intense musical study and performance at the highest level. It brings together young artists, aged 18-30, from the best music schools and conservatories in the country to work in a highly individualized and inspirational atmosphere.

The festival is deeply committed to helping the artists of tomorrow progress to the next step in their careers and to forge their own unique musical identities. Generous scholarships enable students to attend, regardless of financial circumstances. Artistic Director Peter Askim works closely with the students to tailor a program focused on their individual goals, cultivating a spirit of imagination and exploration. The Next Festival’s small size means that the focus is completely on the students.

We emphasize entrepreneurial thinking in imagining a career in today’s shifting musical landscape, bringing some of today’s most innovative and exciting music professionals to work side-by-side with our students. We are proud to have former Kronos Quartet cellist Jeffrey Zeigler as our 2015 Guest Artist, performing with the students in a program of American and World Premieres.

We help our students grow as musicians and reconnect with the joy of making music, away from the academic demands and financial pressures they might encounter during the school year. Your contribution helps support this vitally important mission.

PERHAPS OUR STORY IS BEST TOLD BY SOME OF OUR PAST PARTICIPANTS:

I can’t express how fortunate I feel to have been able to meet and make music with the wonderful and talented musicians at Music Mountain. It was a festival full of the most sincere passion for music, with some of the most gracious and talented musicians I’ve ever met, and all in a very intimate, personal, and supportive environment. It was a week I will never forget.

– Violinist, Vanderbilt University

“This festival provided me with one of those rare paradigm shifts that illuminates the simple answers to a meaningful life which can so easily be covered up in the muck of daily life. It has re-energized me, reawakened my creativity, and reaffirmed, despite the overwhelming odds against me, why I do what I do.”

– Cellist, Columbia University, Manhattan School of Music

Through the generosity of donors like you, we are very proud to have been able to meet 100% of student need for our first two seasons. This enabled us to have wonderful young artists in residence from around the world. Without the generosity of our supporters, these talented musicians would have been unable to attend. Because the Institute is small (only 20 students), your gift will have a huge impact.

PLEASE CONSIDER A GIFT TO THE NEXT FESTIVAL OF EMERGING ARTISTS

This new and exciting hybrid education/performance experience looks to the future by giving opportunity to the artists of tomorrow. Your tax deductible gift will help defray room, board and tuition expenses for the students. Our goal is to make it affordable for every student who wants to attend.

Please join in helping to make extraordinary music possible!

Sincerely,
